Maybe not your normal sobriety story, but I took an unconventional route – consistently applying what I learned in rehab, in parallel with hardcore(!) meditation, and assisted by brain wave entrainment audios and junk to arrive where I am now.
I never really agreed with the whole 12 step thing tbh, so felt like I better compensate for the lack of it in my ongoing path with other things.
Approaching my third sober-versary soon, I’m not perfect, but I’m sober.
My advice? Look closely at your **reasons why** – that’s where the gold is.
Or at least, it was, for me.
